What Momento is, what you may put in it, what will be taken down, and what you are agreeing to when you make a moment public.
Last updated 26 September 2026.
Momento is a diary. You write moments — a few words, a mood, a place, a photo — and each one is public unless you keep it private, with one tap on the page. A private moment can be read by you and by nobody else, from any phone you sign in on, and any public moment can be made private again whenever you like. Public moments appear on your page, in the feeds of people who follow you, and at a link you can share.
There is no advertising and no analytics, and reading what you have written is never sold. What is sold is on the shelf, below.
You need an account to use it, because a diary has to know whose it is, and because the social side — following, likes, reporting, blocking — needs one. You sign in with Apple or with Google; there are no passwords here. You must be at least 13 to have an account (16 where the law says so).
Every moment you write is a page, and a notebook has so many pages. Your first notebook, a 48-page pocket notebook, is free. When it is full, the next page needs a new notebook from the shelf: a 120-page notebook or a 365-page one, bought once and used up as you write. Rooms — the desk your notebook sits on — are bought once and kept.
Momento Plus is a subscription: a notebook that never fills while Plus lasts, a photo on every page, and every room open. It costs $2.99 a month or $19.99 a year (your store shows the price in your currency), it renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it, and you cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, at least 24 hours before the period ends, to stop the next charge. There is no free trial.
Every purchase is made through Apple or Google, under their terms, and any refund is theirs to give: ask the store you bought from, not us — we cannot see your payment. A notebook whose pages you have written on is used, like paper, and is not refunded. Whatever you bought is yours to restore on a new phone from the shelf.
When Plus ends, nothing you wrote goes anywhere: every page stays readable, and a photo put on a page under Plus stays on it. The next page simply needs a notebook with a page left, and a room you moved into under Plus goes back on the shelf unless you bought it.
After you first sign in you choose a handle, once. It is the only permanent public thing about you here, and it cannot be changed afterwards — a handle that could be changed would let one person become another. A handle that reads as abuse or as impersonation may be removed, and the account with it.
Your name and bio are yours to change at any time. They appear beside your public moments and on your page, and nowhere else.
This is the agreement you tick when you choose your handle, before anything of yours can be public. The following are not tolerated in public moments, names, bios or profile pictures, at all: abuse, harassment or threats aimed at anybody; hate speech and slurs; sexual content, and any sexual content involving children; content that encourages somebody to hurt themselves; impersonating somebody; posting another person’s private details; and spam or advertising.
Your private moments are yours. Nothing reads them, nothing moderates them, and no rule above applies to a moment only you can see. The line is drawn at the moment you choose to make one public.
There is no warning system and no strike count. A public moment that breaks this is removed for everyone within 24 hours of being reported, and the person who posted it loses the public side of Momento: every public moment of theirs becomes private, and nothing they write afterwards can be made public or shown to anybody. Their private diary stays theirs.
Every public moment carries Report this page and Block, and every person's page carries Report this person. Reporting puts the moment in front of a person, who reads it and decides — there is no tally, and a moment cannot be taken down by a count of people who merely disliked it. Every report is read and acted on within 24 hours. A moment that breaks no rule stays exactly where it was, and its writer is never told who objected.
Blocking is a different thing and asks nothing of anybody. Block somebody and neither of you sees the other again: their moments leave your feeds and your page leaves theirs, any follow between you ends, and nobody is told. You can undo it from their page.
There is also a box to write in — Write to us, in Settings and on every report. It goes straight to a person and needs no mail app. From anywhere else, fatihturker35@gmail.com reaches the same person.
That the words and photos in a moment are yours to post, and that a public one does not expose somebody else. Making a moment public gives Momento only what is needed to show it: on your page, in feeds, and on the page at its link, with the preview that appears when the link is shared.
A public moment may be taken down if it breaks the rules above or if the law requires it. Your own moments are yours to edit, make private or delete at any time.
Settings → Delete my account removes everything now: every moment in any visibility, every photo, your likes, your follows, your blocks and your handle, which becomes free for somebody else. There is no way to get any of it back. Signing out, by contrast, changes nothing — your diary waits on the server for the next phone you sign in on.
Momento is offered as it is, by Algol Industries. It will keep changing — how it looks, what it can do — and none of that changes the promise that matters: a private moment stays private, and a public one can be made private again by you and only you.
If Momento ever has to close for good, everyone with an account will be told before it does, with time to save what they have written.
Momento is made and run by Algol Industries, in Türkiye, and these terms are governed by the law of Türkiye. Momento is offered as it is: Algol Industries will keep it working with care, but is not liable for a loss that follows from using it beyond what the law does not let it exclude, and in no case for more than what you paid for it in the twelve months before.
If you got Momento from Apple's App Store: this agreement is between you and Algol Industries, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to support or maintain Momento, is not responsible for any claim about it or about anything in it, and is a third-party beneficiary of these terms, entitled to enforce them against you. You confirm you are not in a country under a U.S. government embargo and not on any U.S. list of prohibited parties.
From inside the app: Settings → “Write to us”. From anywhere: fatihturker35@gmail.com. A person reads it.
